From today, GoodWe, the world's leading manufacturer of photovoltaic inverters and energy storage systems, opens new offices in Madrid to support a market in continuous growth. With this opening, the company, which has been working in Spain since 2018, consolidates its position and its commitment to the European market and, in particular, to the Spanish market.

The choice of a new headquarters is the consequence of the company's progress to date and reflects its expected future growth, which is an important milestone for GoodWe. The company has opted for a space that allows it to respond to its business in an agile and comfortable way, adapted to the needs of its employees, with the aim of becoming a 'destination company'.

GoodWe is located in a sustainable building in Paseo de la Habana in Madrid, where the names of the rooms are related to renewable energies. In an environment of shared offices, GoodWe joins forces with Utopicus as the ideal place to accommodate a team of professionals in continuous growth. A building aligned with the new global energy map and marked by strong collaboration, digitalisation and the need to contribute to greater energy efficiency to achieve a more sustainable future for all, hallmarks of GoodWe's brand identity and commitment, which seeks to leverage smart technology to drive the energy transition.

One of GoodWe's goals is to transform and promote, together with its partners and customers, a sustainable future for generations to come. To achieve it, the company has more than 700 qualified employees in research and development (R&D) worldwide, and more than 4,000 employees in total, who develop products and solutions for the residential, commercial and industrial segments, where it has a long history, as well as for large-scale plants. A manufacturing service for photovoltaic solutions ranging from the development of inverters for large-scale plants to those for self-consumption installations in the residential sector.

GoodWe's mission is to support the customer throughout the entire process, from sales to operation with its network of distributors and services, including the installation of its products and solutions. An example of this is the launch of GoodWe PLUS+, the European programme promoted by the company to train installers and, in this way, to accompany its partners and customers during all these phases (sales-installation-marketing) through its different specialised teams. “We are promoting this support because at GoodWe we want to help our partners and customers in their energy transition.  A team with great expertise in constant growth 

GoodWe is facing a common challenge in the sector, the challenge of attracting talent, where it is focusing on acquiring the best team of professionals in the sector, including David Sánchez, Álvaro Zanón and Carlos Álvarez. 

David Sanchez, Sales Director EMEA for Utility and Large Scale at GoodWe, has more than fifteen years of industry experience and has been involved in large international projects. Expert in string technology and central inverter technology, he has a unique expertise in how string technology can help to maximize the performance of utility scale solar plants, achieve lower LCOE and better ROI. 

Carlos Álvarez, Director of Grid Connection EMEA for Utility and Large Scale en GoodWe, has been working in the renewable energy sector since 2004, when he started his PhD in electrical engineering. Since then, he has focused on power quality and grid code compliance for renewable power plants. He has worked in electrical laboratories, certification bodies, technical advisors and manufacturers. He is focused now in the integration of large amounts of renewable energy sources into electricity grids.

Álvaro Zanón, Technical Director EMEA for Utility and Large Scale at GoodWe, commented on his arrival at GoodWe: "Having worked for more than 12 years in string inverter companies, I consider myself one of the early supporters of distributed PV topologies. I worked in the US for 6 years developing the string inverters market and leading the technical team. For the last almost seven years I have been working at Huawei Spain as Technical Director for Utility projects. I joined GoodWe because of the positive customer response and the company's fast growth in the market”.
